Family holidays in Normandy
in the Pays d’Auge
A house to be together in, a kitchen for everyday meals and the countryside all around: the Hameau des Prés-Verts welcomes your family holiday at Les Champeaux, in the Orne. You can also come for a few days midweek or a family weekend, as you wish and subject to availability.
Reinette Grise sleeps up to 6 people; the Chalet Normand up to 4. The two gîtes are independent, each has a fully equipped kitchen, and pets are welcome in both. Your choice will depend on the size of your family, the layout of the bedrooms and the kind of outdoor space you would like during your stay.

Choosing the right house for your family
Reinette Grise, for up to 6 people, with a private garden
Reinette Grise has two bedrooms, including a master suite with its own bathroom and WC. The sitting room, dining room and kitchen are there for the shared moments of the day. Outside, the large private garden, the terraces and the barbecue draw out meals and afternoons.
To arrange the sleeping for a family spanning several generations, or to find out what is possible for a young child, contact your hosts before booking. That way you can choose your house with all the useful details in hand.
The Chalet Normand, for up to 4 people, with its own private pool
The Chalet’s two bedrooms each have a double bed. One leads into the other: you reach the second by walking through the first. This layout is worth considering in light of your children’s ages and your family’s habits.
The heated pool is reserved for guests of the Chalet from 1 May to 30 September, and may stay open longer if the weather allows. The terrace opens straight onto the pool; children must always be supervised when swimming and near the water.

Book both houses to bring together up to 10 people
A large family, several generations or friends sharing a holiday can book both gîtes together, subject to their availability on the same dates. Reinette Grise sleeps up to 6 people and the Chalet up to 4, in four bedrooms in all. Everyone keeps the comfort of an independent house, with its own kitchen and living spaces.
Let us plan the sleeping arrangements and the shared moments together. The Chalet’s bedrooms lead one into the other; how meals are organised and access to the facilities, including its pool, should be settled before booking.

Enjoy your holiday at your own pace
In a whole house, everyone finds their bearings more easily. You can make an early meal, come back for a break after a visit or spend the whole day at home. The fully equipped kitchens mean you do not have to plan a restaurant outing for every meal.
The Hameau’s breakfast is an option for the mornings when you would rather be looked after. The sweet breakfast at €13, the savoury at €15 and the mixed at €17 per person are served in your house or outside, depending on the season. The produce and dishes vary with the option you choose.
Things to do as a family around the Hameau
Discover the produce of the Pays d’Auge
Camembert, Livarot and the markets let you combine a short outing with a taste of the local produce. A visit to a cheese dairy, a basket to fill and a return home for lunch can make a whole day without piling on the miles. Check the producers’ visiting arrangements before you set off.
Mix heritage and walks
The Haras national du Pin (France’s national stud) and the castle at Falaise offer more ideas for days out. Close by, the paths of the bocage (hedged farmland) invite you to walk at your own pace. Choose the length of your outings to suit the children and keep your plans flexible.
Preparing your visit with children and pets
When you enquire, tell us the number of guests and the children’s ages. If you need a cot, a particular sleeping arrangement or information about access, check these points with us before booking. Pets are welcome in both houses; please let us know if you are bringing one.
For a joint booking, tell us you would like both houses and give us the dates that suit everyone. We can then check availability for the whole group.
