The Haras national du Pin, France’s national stud, is about half an hour’s drive from Le Hameau des Prés-Verts. At Les Champeaux, in the Orne, our two houses let you pair a visit to the stud with a few days among the landscapes of the Pays d’Auge.
Travelling alone, as a couple, with family or with friends, choose Reinette Grise for up to 6 guests or the Chalet Normand for up to 4. The whole house is yours, with a fully equipped kitchen and a country setting to come home to after your day out.

The Orne’s equestrian heritage
The buildings, the stables and the collections offer a glimpse into the history of the stud and the place of the horse in the region. The grand courtyard and the architecture are very much part of the visit, whether you are a keen rider or simply curious about Normandy’s heritage.

Shows and events to fit into your stay
If your trip is built around a show or an equestrian event, first check its date, its times and whether you need to book. You can then pick the nights that let you enjoy the day without rushing home.
The driving time from the Hameau is only a guide. Allow extra time for parking and getting in on busy event days.
Choosing your house to suit your group
Reinette Grise has two bedrooms, including a master suite, a fireplace and a large private garden. The house can also be booked by one or two people who would like a little more space during their stay.
The Chalet Normand has two interconnecting bedrooms with double beds, an open-plan kitchen and a terrace overlooking its heated pool, which is for Chalet guests only during the season. Pets are welcome in both houses.
Staying a few days in the Orne
A visit to the Haras du Pin can be the starting point for a longer stay. Argentan offers cultural outings and shops; Camembert and the producers of the Pays d’Auge give you another way to explore the region. Keep some time, too, for walking or simply enjoying your house.
The equipped kitchens let you prepare meals at your own pace. The Hameau breakfast is available as an option. The outdoor hot tub, at 38 °C, is included in your stay, with a private slot to book in advance.
Getting to the Hameau from the stud
The Hameau is at 1258 chemin des Manis, 61120 Les Champeaux. The Haras national du Pin is a separate visitor site, to be reached by road. Free parking is available at your accommodation.
